A well-established private pre-primary school in Sandton is seeking to appoint a warm, energetic and experienced Toddler Centre Assistant to join our team from June 2026.

We are looking for a nurturing and passionate individual who genuinely loves working with toddlers and understands the importance of creating a safe, caring and engaging learning environment for our little ones.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum 2 years’ experience working specifically with toddlers (ages 1–3 years)

Minimum 5 years’ experience within a pre-primary school environment

Excellent communication skills with strong proficiency in English

Loving, patient and caring nature

Energetic, hands-on and proactive approach

Passion for early childhood development

Ability to work well within a team

Strong classroom support and organisational skills

Neat, professional and presentable

Own reliable transport

Clear criminal record

First Aid certification will be advantageous

ECD qualification or relevant childcare qualification will be advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the class teacher with the daily care and supervision of toddlers

Support the implementation of age-appropriate activities and learning experiences

Maintain a clean, organised and stimulating classroom environment

Assist with feeding, toileting, nap routines and general care

Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all little ones at all times

Build positive relationships with parents, staff and learners

Participate in school events, meetings and staff development where required

Support classroom preparation, displays and activity setup
