Position Requirements:

• Grade 12/ Senior Certificate
• 3yrs Code 14 Driving Experience
• Valid PDP
• Forklift License (Beneficial)
• Must be willing to work weekends
• Must be willing to work Overtime (when required)

Position Responsibilities:

Deliveries & Collections (Truck Driver):

• Ensure all deliveries/collections are being done as per daily trip sheet.
• Upon delivery at suppliers/customers, make sure all stock is handled safely.
• Ensure that the correct stock, quantity of stock and quality of stock is correct.
• When completing deliveries, make sure all documents issued has been signed.
• Upon collection, ensure all necessary documents are signed for and that it’s completed accurately.
• To ensure that all deliveries and collections is recorded on trip sheet, hand in daily to Senior
  Shipping controller.
• Report and inform any delays/interruption on the road to superior.
• Report any breakdowns/accidents on the road to superior.
• Ensure Truck is parked inside the designated building / holding areas.
• Ensure vehicle licence is valid & renewed yearly or when required.
• Inspect condition of company vehicles and report any damages daily.
• Ensure Truck is filled as required by the suggested supplier
• Ensure consumption of truck is on standard
• Abide by all & local government laws of the road

Driving & Transport (Forklift Driver):

• Transport bobbins and raw material to production floor / area
• Transportation, storage and/or stacking of:
  • Pallets
  • Finished goods
  • Strip Steel
  • Rod
  • Flat Wire
• Ensure that correct storage and stacking methods / standards are followed at all times. No pallets
  are to be stacked against each other
• Assist with stock counts / stock take of raw material from time to time
• Correspond the bobbin report of the bobbin prior to the transportation of the bobbin
• Transportation of raw material
• Loading /offloading of trucks at plant and load stock into relevant store/s
• Assist with the loading of containers
• Report any quality discrepancy / problem of material / productions loaded / transported
• Assist other departments with ad hoc forklift driving and transport duties as required
• Report any incident / accident immediately to operations foreman / senior manager
• Ensure safe operation / driving methods of forklift on plant
• Follow all rules and regulations with relations and operation methods as forklift driver
• Adhere to H & S regulations of plant, with relation to a forklift driver
• Ensure consistent and correct use of PPE in plant at all times,
• Take extreme precaution when operating the forklift at plants, roads and/or surrounding areas

Housekeeping:

• Ensure that an acceptable standard of housekeeping
• Ensure that each pallet is in a clean and tidy condition prior to loading
• Ensure that wrapping and packaging of each pallet is in a neat condition. Any torn wrapping is to
  be replaced prior to loading.

General:

• Follow any lawful and reasonable instruction received from management
• Work according to the shift roster from week to week.
• Be willing to work overtime / extended hours as a result of operational influences
• Attend rotational shifts over weekends according to the shift roster
