Home-office based position
Salary negotiable depending on experience (approximately R7 000 starting range)
We are looking for a responsible, detail-oriented and highly organised individual to assist in the accounts and administration side of a transport business.
This role operates on a rotating schedule of approximately:
- 3 weeks on
- 1 week off
Working periods are generally from around the 20th of each month until approximately the 10th of the following month, although this may vary during peak periods, particularly December and January.
Responsibilities include:
Invoicing clients
Reconciling accounts
Preparing and sending statements
Checking and allocating payments
Liaising with clients accounts departments
Capturing and processing trip information
Reconciling driver log sheets against client records
Checking fuel slips and related reconciliations
Filing and general administrative duties
Working extensively on Excel and Pastel
Drivers submit log sheets monthly, which need to be carefully checked against client records and invoiced according to various trip rates and vehicle categories. This role requires patience, strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Requirements:
Previous admin/accounts experience essential
Experience in the transport industry advantageous
Good Excel and Pastel knowledge
Strong reconciliation and organisational skills
Good with figures and calculations
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Able to work independently and manage deadlines
Responsible, trustworthy and professional
Good communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment during peak periods
Own reliable transport essential
Living nearby will be advantageous
