We are looking for a skilled and disciplined Chef to join our team at a busy express kitchen in Mojo Market. We specialize in authentic, meat-free East and Southeast Asian cuisines.

Our kitchen adheres to specific dietary standards, focusing on Asian dishes prepared without meat. We are looking for a professional who can maintain high standards of flavor and speed in a fast-paced market environment.

Key Responsibilities

Wok Station: Executing stir-fry dishes with speed and "wok hei" precision.

Sushi Station: Preparing plant-based sushi rolls and nigiri.

Prep & Quality Control: Managing daily prep to ensure all ingredients meet strict dietary requirements.

Kitchen Operations: Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workstation during peak market hours.

Requirements

- Experience: Strong background in Asian cuisines, with specific expertise in wok techniques and sushi preparation. Waitressing experience also preferred.

- Dietary Focus: Experience in or an interest in plant-based/vegetarian cooking.

- Work Ethic: Reliable, hardworking, and able to thrive in a high-energy, public-facing food market.

- Location: Must be based in or able to easily commute to Sea Point.

Schedule & Benefits

- Work Week: Full-time, 45hrs per week

- Leave: 18 days annual leave
