Two vacancies exist for a Porter, based at Life Groenkloof Hospital, reporting to the Admission Supervisor. The successful candidates will be part of a professional team that is continuously striving for the highest standards of quality in healthcare.

Critical Outputs
Be friendly to all customers
Transport patients from reception to wards and vice versa.
Transport patients from wards to doctor’s rooms and smoking areas when required and a nurse should accompany them depending on diagnoses.
Check wheelchairs for cleanliness and whether in need of repairs (maintain good working condition)
Assist with ad-hoc duties as and when required by the Reception Supervisor during busier periods.
Deliver correspondence to doctor’s rooms as and when required

Requirements

Grade 12
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays in accordance with the requirements of the hospital
Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.
Good interpersonal skills, the ability to deal with people and be in the frontline.
Previous experience in a similar environment.
Ability to communicate effectively
Experience in working in customer service/dealing with customers
