Description

We are seeking a Qualified Artisan to join the Maintenance Department on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is
based in Stellenbosch and involves ensuring the smooth operation of
machinery and equipment in a fast-paced production environment, with a
strong focus on preventive and corrective maintenance. This position is well
suited to an individual with solid trade skills, experience in manufacturing or
FMCG (food, beverage, or related processing), and a hands-on approach to
problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance on production
machinery, utilities, and facility infrastructure.
Diagnose and repair faults on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic
systems.
Support production teams with equipment changeovers, setups, and adjustments.
Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of equipment.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including job cards,
checklists, and inspections.
Monitor equipment condition and report potential issues to prevent breakdowns.
Ensure adequate stock levels of critical spares and tools.
Comply with all health, safety, and quality (SHEQ) standards, including
lock-out/tag-out and risk assessment protocols.
Participate in standby and overtime duties as required.

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and high equipment availability.

Minimum Requirements

Matric/Grade 12 (or equivalent).
Recognised Trade Test Certificate (e.g. Fitter, Millwright, Electrician, or
similar).
3 years’ post-qualification experience in maintenance within a production, FMCG, food, or beverage environment.
Knowledge of pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and related equipment.
Ability to read technical drawings and perform accurate fault-finding.
Computer literacy (basic MS Office, maintenance systems) is advantageous.

Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
