A vacancy exists for an Artisan Assistant, based at Life Flora Hospital reporting to Peris Naicker, Operations Engineering Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting general handyman related maintenance activities e.g. plumbing, door repairs, shelves, painting, general building maintenance, etc.

Critical Outputs
Responsible for restoration/repairs of buildings and equipment.
Perform tactical tasks related to inspection, routine cleaning and repairs on all plumbing related installations in accordance with the preventative maintenance program.
Conduct repairs to all doors e.g. repairing or replacing door handles, lock mechanisms, hinges, etc.
Installation and repairs related to shelves, picture frames, corner protectors, etc.
Perform painting related tasks as and when required
Execute repairs/tasks as per job cards and/or as per verbal instruction.
Assist with other maintenance related tasks as required from the Operations Engineering Department.
Issue permit to work and monitor work conducted by contractors
Stock and inventory control of materials
Excellent completion of daily digital job cards and feedback thereof is a highly priority.

Requirements

Matric/N3 or equivalent qualification
Driver’s license and own transport
Must have experience doing plumbing related maintenance and repairs.
Hospital or Facilities related maintenance experience will be an advantage
Electrical, building, carpentry, welding or tiling experience will be an advantage.
Applicants must be able to work under pressure, make fast, effective and safe decisions; work safely
Computer proficiency (MS Office)
Comply with all Health, Safety and Infection Control Policies
Perform standby duties as per standby roster
