External Debt Collector (EDC) Manager

Travel required for vendor visits and bi-annual team events

An established collections environment is seeking an experienced External Debt Collector (EDC) Manager to manage and optimise the performance of outsourced debt collection agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Manage external debt collection agencies, including onboarding, performance management, and operational reviews

Monitor agency KPIs, reporting, recoveries, and compliance standards

Drive portfolio allocation strategies and improve collection performance

Oversee SLA management, commercial agreements, and stakeholder relationships

Ensure compliance with NCA, POPIA, FICA, and Debt Collectors Act requirements

Lead and support the EDC operations team

Requirements

10+ years’ experience in debt collections or vendor management
Strong understanding of collections operations and performance analytics
Experience managing external agencies and senior stakeholders
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of NCA, POPIA, FICA, and Debt Collectors Act regulations
