Founded in 2010, Project Playground has ten years of experience in developing and facilitating programs aimed at strengthening the self-esteem and ambitions of children and youth through structured after school programs. Programs offered include education, sports, and the arts, as well as an in-house social work division with focus on therapeutic intervention and family strengthening initiatives.
About the Job
The Finance Manager will execute and manage the financial management functions of Project Playground. He/she must have excellent knowledge of Sage One and Simple Pay with the ability to work independently and have strong work ethics.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring efficient, effective and transparent financial management
Ensuring legal financial compliance
Preparing, presenting and implementing annual budgets in collaboration with broader management
Producing monthly financial reports, including fundraising reports to the CEO, board of Trustees and General Secretary
Providing management with annual budgets and maintaining a monthly reporting system for each manager/center/division
Producing and overseeing special financial reports to grant makers and key partners
Maintaining relationship with key stakeholders and negotiate annual increases
Creating annual financial strategies and maintaining financial handbook
Monitoring cash flows, predicting and advising on future trends
Processing and managing payroll
Managing all financial related concerns and requests by staff of Project Playground o Liaising with auditors and managing monthly audits
Providing workshops when needed to upskill management on financial matters
Coaching, mentoring and leading the financial team
Full Bookkeeping function
Requirements
At least three years of experience in a similar role preferably in NPO Sector
Accounting Diploma/Degree essential
Must have excellent knowledge of Sage One and Simple Pay
Exceptional organizational skills
Strong written and verbal skills
Independent and strong work ethics
Good computer skills, mainly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite
Loyal, honest and with integrity
Punctual and meets deadlines
Human Resource Knowledge preferred.
