Description
The Tshwane School for Business and Society, based at Ditsela Place, 1204 Park Street, Hatfield, Pretoria, is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach the following Weekday Block, Saturday Block and Online classes.
Key Performance Areas
• Deliver engaging and impactful lectures focusing on case studies on quantitative methods,
qualitative research frameworks, and structured decision-making models for MBA students across
face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
• Revise the curriculum and enhance course content to reflect contemporary trends in the subject
area above, ensuring compliance with business school standards and the guidelines set forth by
the Council on Higher Education (CHE).
• Use online learning management systems effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, academic achievement, and attendance.
• Assess all assessments and capture marks on ITS within two weeks of the assessment date.
• Provide student consultation and academic support.
• Build partnerships with corporate stakeholders, industry leaders, and alumni to bridge theory and real-world business practice.
• Participate in TSB’s committees, quality assurance processes, student recruitment, and
accreditation reviews.
• Participate in the administration of school programmes and other related activities as
required.
Minimum Requirements
• Doctoral Degree (An NQF Level 10) specialising in Data Analytics or Statistics.
Experience and Competencies
• Three years of teaching and research experience at a tertiary institution, with a proven track
record of teaching both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
• Mastery of quantitative software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS, or Stata) AND qualitative analysis software
(e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti).
• Capacity to facilitate blended/online learning.
• Sound business and industry knowledge and executive education delivery.
• Expert knowledge of the theory and application of relevant MBA disciplines.
• Full proficiency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and other teaching and learning technology platforms.
• Completion of the TUT License to Teach programme will be compulsory upon appointment.
• Being a member of a relevant professional body will be an added advantage.
