Description
The Department of Public Management within the Faculty of Humanities seeks to appoint Part-time Marker at Soshanguve South Campus.
INSTRUCTIONS: Applicants are required to submit, together with the CVs, a fully completed standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and Identity Document. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Candidates may be subjected to appropriate psychometric testing and other selection instruments.
Key performance areas/Core functions:
The marker in the Department of Public Management is an academic leader responsible for marking and managing assessment activities of teaching and learning activities and executing the following duties:
• Assist with the marking of extra scripts.
• Be responsible for administrative tasks relating to marking as may be requested by the main Lecturer or HOD.
• Align with and understand the module descriptors of the module being marked.
• Ensure adherence to study material prescribed and recommend for the module being marked.
• Present marks accurately and on time.
• Attend subject meetings as and when required.
• General administrative duties such as capturing/recording of the assessment marks on the ITS class lists.
• Consultation with students or the main Lecturer on issues related to marking.
Minimum requirements:
Academic qualifications:
• Master of Public Affairs.
• Honours degree in Public Affairs and related discipline with extensive experience in teaching and learning would also be considered.
Experience:
• At least 3 years teaching experience at a tertiary institution is a requirement.
• Presentations in conference proceedings will be an added advantage.
• Evidence of engagement in scientific research and publications in DHET accredited journals will be an added advantage.
