Night Assistant Manager
Purpose of the Role
To support the Night Manager in ensuring efficient night shift operations with a primary
focus on receiving activities while assisting with dispatch, stock handling,
and operational requirements. This role supports the smooth running of
overnight operations within a fast-paced events environment by assisting with
operational processes, team coordination, and stock control activities.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
• Support the Night Manager in ensuring efficient and effective night operations
• Assist in coordinating receiving, dispatch, and warehouse activities during
night shifts
• Provide operational support to teams to maintain workflow, productivity, and
operational efficiency
• Act as operational support and provide basic supervision when required in the
absence of the Night Manager
Receiving Operations (Primary Focus)
• Support and oversee receiving activities including checking, counting, and verifying
incoming and returned stock and equipment
• Inspect returned event equipment and stock for damages, shortages, quality
concerns, and discrepancies
• Ensure receiving documentation is accurate, completed correctly, and
processed timeously
• Assist with coordinating efficient offloading, sorting, and organisation of
stock within designated areas
• Report stock discrepancies, shortages, damages, and operational concerns to
management
Dispatch Operations
• Support dispatch operations by ensuring stock and equipment are accurately prepared and
ready for loading
• Assist in ensuring dispatch requirements and timelines are achieved
• Support loading activities and ensure stock movement processes are followed
correctly
Stock Control & Warehouse Support
• Assist in maintaining stock flow between receiving, storage, and dispatch areas
• Ensure stock is labelled, sorted, stored, and handled according to company
standards
• Support stock control processes and maintain accurate stock movement
practices
• Assist with maintaining organised warehouse and operational areas
Leadership & Team Support
• Support team coordination during night operations
• Provide guidance and support to team members where required
• Promote teamwork, communication, accountability, and operational efficiency
• Assist the Night Manager with operational communication and shift handovers
where required
Requirements
• Experience within warehouse, logistics, receiving, dispatch, or events environments
preferredl
• Ability to work effectively under pressure within a fast-paced environment
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work night shifts, weekends, public holidays, and peak operational
periods
• Own reliable transport essential
