Description
A vacancy exists for a Pharmacy Stock Controller based at Life Roseacres Hospital, reporting to the Pharmacy Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the quality pharmaceutical services, financial objectives, legislative compliance and people management requirements are achieved to the required standards.
Critical Outputs
Effective medication safety management
Report 100% of pharmacy alerts and incidents
Effective quality management systems
Ensure compliance to LHC Quality management systems.
Ensure compliance with SAPC, DOH and LHC legal and professional standards.
Ensure customer satisfaction and pharmacy quality initiatives.
Effective stock management
Dead stock and short dated stock management
Negative stock management
Capturing and handling of product complaints
Attend to product recalls timeously
Participate in achieving hospital budgeted financial measures relating to pharmacy.
Implementing and maintaining LHC formulary
Effective product management
Participate in the active management of cost of sales.
Build effective working relationships with nursing staff.
Manage non recoverable usage.
Effective asset management
Participate in achieving stock targets i.e. stock days, dead stock, stock variances.
Excellent stock-take knowledge with good management of short dated stock
Manage and minimize stock write offs.
Management of unreconciled liabilities, GRIR and MIR6 transactions clearing
Ensure correct ordering, issuing, timeous receipting and crediting of stock.
Consignment and Loan stock billing and management
Management of negative stock
Achieve optimal system utilization.
Effective people management
Ensure good communication with nursing staff and doctors.
Good inter-personal skills
Requirements
Grade 12 National Senior Certificate.
Working knowledge of SAP
Basic accounting skills
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) is essential.
Medical experience is essential with hospital stock control experience.
A person who is result orientated, pays attention to detail, and has excellent interpersonal skills.
Customer focus, a commitment towards continuous improvement, the ability to work independently and the management of time is required.
Willingness to work overtime, afterhours and weekends also required.
Ability to work under pressure.
