About the Job

Columba Leadership is looking for a dedicated and experienced School Engagement Officer in our KwaZulu-Natal office in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for the school-based engagements, be able to work as a thinking partner to the school stakeholders and play a key role in monitoring progress, evaluating results and reporting on the projects.

Key Responsibilities

Engaging regularly with principals, educators, learners, and Department of Education stakeholders.

Supporting school participation in leadership programmes and youth engagement initiatives.

Facilitating principal and educator engagement sessions, school cluster meetings, and Values Champion events.

Assisting schools with obtaining excursion approvals and supporting place-based community engagements.

Monitoring programme Implementation, maintaining M&E records and databases, and contributing to donor reporting.

Collecting and sharing impact stories, lessons learned, and programme feedback to support organisational learning and fundraising efforts.

Supporting corporate, investor, partner, and community engagement activities.

Coordinating participant involvement in events, special projects, online shows, and marketing initiatives.

Providing operational support, troubleshooting challenges, and ensuring programme delivery aligns with organisational standards and procedures.

Conducting area research and assisting with identifying schools for special programme interventions.

Requirements
Qualifications

Bachelor of Psychology, Bachelor of Education, or Social Sciences Degree.

Coaching or Mentoring qualification would be advantageous.

Experience

3–5 years’ experience working in schools at Principal and Educator level.

Skills and Competencies

Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Excellent report writing skills.

Strong planning, coordination, administration, and time management abilities.

High attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to take initiative and work effectively as part of a team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment.

Ability to work under pressure.

Honest, reliable, accountable, and committed to continuous personal development.

Other Requirements

Valid driver’s licence.
