POSITION OVERVIEW

The Stock Controller – Dry Stores oversees daily operations, receiving, quality assurance, inventory accuracy, and stock rotation within the Dry Goods store. This role ensures seamless inventory control, strict safety/quality standards, minimal shrinkage, and accurate system reconciliation to support production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Stock Receiving & Quality Control

Conduct quality, quantity, and documentation checks on incoming dry goods before acceptance.

Reject goods lacking approved paperwork; report discrepancies to the Production Manager immediately.

Ensure received items are tagged with lot/batch numbers for full traceability.

Monitor expiry dates and stock aging using strict FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation.

Coordinate prompt stock movement to designated storage areas and departments.

2. Inventory Management & Stock Control

Execute daily stock counts and participate in month-end inventory audits.

Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies to align physical stock with system records.

Place Dry Goods stock orders based on min/max thresholds and production needs.

Process customer returns per company SOPs.

Enforce stock-loss prevention measures to minimize wastage, spoilage, and damage.

3. Operational Coordination & Housekeeping

Maintain strict cleanliness, hygiene, and housekeeping standards in storage areas.

Keep receiving area doors closed per health, safety, and security protocols.

Attend weekly alignment meetings with the Production and Operations Managers.

Perform additional operational duties as requested by management.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

Receiving Efficiency: Speedy delivery processing with zero paperwork errors.

Inventory Accuracy: High alignment between physical stock and system records.

Quality Assurance: Full compliance with batching, labeling, and expiry tracking.

Wastage Reduction: Minimal stock damage, spoilage, and shrinkage.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Grade 12 / Matriculation certificate (Essential).

Computer Literacy: Proficient in general computer operations and ERP/inventory software.

Experience: Prior experience in dry store inventory, receiving, or FMCG/food production preferred.
