A vacancy exists for a Theatre Porter, based at Life Groenkloof Hospital reporting to the Theatre Manager. The purpose of this position is providing a supportive function to the nursing staff in basic delivery of tasks i.e. transportation of patients as well as supportive administration department.

Critical Outputs
Providing prompt, courteous service to all patients, staff, doctors, and any other persons
Safe and professional transporting of patients to Theatre and other sites
Delivering of prescriptions, ECG’s, X-Rays, as well as any other goods
Assist in recovery room and theatre with lifting and handling of patients from theatre and back.
Assist in moving theatre tables and equipment to theatre and storeroom.
Maintaining a safe, clean environment

Requirements

Grade 12
Must be able to do weekend calls.
An enthusiastic, motivated, well-organized individual with initiative and able to handle pressure.
Able to work shifts (day or night) and overtime as required.
Must be customer service orientated.
Must be willing to fulfill a role in the theatre according to flexi hour system.
Teamwork essential.
Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.
