The Department of Environmental, Water and Earth Sciences, in the Faculty of Sciences, requires the services of TUTORS for day classes 2026
Critical Performance Areas
• Tutoring of undergraduate students with Environmental sciences or Geology or Water sciences modules listed
below.
Minimum Requirements
• Postgraduate students(PG Diploma, Master’s and PhD) will be appointed as tutors for first ,second, third-and
fourth-year students
• BTech students and Advanced Diploma students with a good academic track record (≥60%) will be
appointed as tutors for first, second and third-year students
• Final-year students with good academic track record (≥60%) will be appointed as tutors for first-year students
• Second, third and fourth year and postgraduate students with experience in using the myTUTor will be appointed
for Brightspace influencers/e-Tutors
Other Special Requirements
• Computer literacy – Word and Excel – ITS and HEDA
• Self -Organisational skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Mentorship skills
• Competence in using the Learning Management System
Additional information:
• Preference will be given to South African students.
• Appointment for a maximum of 2 hours per week,3 hours per week or 8 hours per week.
• The appointment is for a SIX MONTHS forsemester modules and 9 MONTHS for year modules
