Position Overview
The Workshop Manager will be responsible for managing the repair workflow, ensuring repairs are completed to a high standard, and maintaining a productive, safety-compliant working environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with proven experience in auto body repair and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the daily operations of the workshop, including panel beating, spray painting, and mechanical repairs.
• Allocate tasks and supervise technicians to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to high-quality standards.
• Coordinate with the Estimator to prioritize and manage repair schedules.
• Monitor job progress, perform quality control inspections, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Manage parts ordering, inventory control, and equipment maintenance.
• Lead, train, and support workshop staff, including apprentices and tradespeople.
• Ensure excellent customer service is upheld throughout the repair process.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in auto body repair, including team leadership or workshop supervision.
• In-depth technical knowledge of panel beating, structural repairs, and spray painting processes.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to interpret estimates and technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A trade qualification in panel beating or spray painting (preferred).
