Purpose of the Role
The Foreman - Roads and Stormwater will be responsible for
supervising, coordinating, and controlling all site activities related to roads
and stormwater construction and maintenance projects in accordance with
approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, quality requirements, and
project programmes. The role requires an experienced Foreman with proven
technical competence in civil construction, strong leadership, and the ability
to work in site-based environments across South Africa
Role Expectations
Minimum 5 years proven experience as Foreman in Roads,
Stormwater, Earthworks, Layerworks, and Civil Infrastructure projects.
Experience in municipal, Road Agencies and SANRAL projects advantageous
Minimum Qualification Requirements
· National Diploma in Civil Engineering or higher.
· Additional construction supervision, health and safety,
or site management training will be advantageous.
· Valid driver’s licence required.
· Professional registration with ECSA as a Candidate
Engineering Technician, Candidate Engineering Technologist, Professional
Engineering Technician, or Professional Engineering Technologist is preferred.
· Candidates currently pursuing ECSA registration will be
considered favourably.
Experience Requirements
The candidate must have a minimum of 5
years proven construction supervision experience in civil engineering
infrastructure projects, specifically including:
· Road and stormwater construction – asphalt surfacing
and paved roads
· Insitu concrete bridge & canal construction and
rehabilitation
· Site supervision of labour, subcontractors, operators, and
general construction crews.
· Working from construction drawings, specifications, method
statements, quality control plans, and site instructions.
· Exposure to public-sector and municipal infrastructure
projects will be advantageous.
Additional Skills Required
Ability to read and interpret civil drawings especially
roads, bridges and canals. Set out works, manage teams, and ensure health &
safety compliance.
