We are a hardware retail company opening a new distribution centre in Strydompark, Randburg, and are looking for a reliable, self-motivated individual to run the day-to-day operations of the centre. As the sole on-site team member, you will be responsible for all administrative, operational, and customer-facing tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow with a business from the ground up.
Key responsibilities
Receiving and dispatching goods at the distribution centre
Processing card payments using the on-site POS system and card machine
Updating and maintaining accurate stock/inventory records
Managing orders via our Ecommerce platform
Responding to customer questions and queries via WhatsApp Business
Sending pictures of stock to customers when requested
Compiling and submitting daily sales reports to head office (HQ)
Maintaining regular communication with HQ regarding stock levels, customer issues, and urgent orders
Booking couriers and scheduling customer collections
Opening and closing the distribution centre each business day
Requirements & skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Computer literate and comfortable working with a laptop
Good working knowledge of POS systems
Basic understanding of Ecommerce platforms (e.g. Shopify, WooCommerce, or similar)
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Own smartphone capable of installing WhatsApp Business, with a decent camera
Trustworthy and accountable — you will be responsible for all stock on the premises
Strong time management skills — there will be downtime initially as the customer base grows
Good problem-solving ability — able to act quickly when urgent stock is needed for a customer
Highly reliable — the centre cannot operate on days you are absent
Must live close to Strydompark and have your own reliable transport to and from work

Working hours
Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 16:30
Saturday: 08:00 – 13:00
No overtime, unless specifically authorised by management
