The Faculty of Economics and Finance, Ga-Rankuwa Campus, requires the services of part- time lecturers for teaching in the fields of Applied Languages and Communication Skills at their Ga-Rankuwa Campus for 2027. Lecturing is during the week and on Saturdays where applicable.Preference will be given to qualifying South African citizens, including persons with disability and women.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Applicants are required to submit, together with their CVs, the standard, fully completed application
form available from the university intranet, as well as a comprehensive letter of motivation that indicates their suitability
for the position. In addition, recently certified copies of qualifications and identity documents must be submitted. Failure
to comply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Further note that candidates may be expected to make a
presentation or undergo competency testing. Should further information, such as a portfolio of evidence, be required,
such will be communicated to applicants.Existing part-time staff that already has a 19-hour part-time appointment
in the university can not be considered for the position.
Critical Performance Areas
• Lecturing English Communication skills and English for Academic Purposes at under graduate and post
graduate diploma level.
• Develop learning material and integrate appropriate technology in teaching and learning.
• Assess learning outcomes using appropriate assessment methods in line with the TUT Policy on Assessment.
• Capture assessment marks on ITS, track and monitor at-risk students.
• Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Minimum qualifications:
1. Academic Qualifications:
• The minimum academic requirement for lectureship is a Master’s Degree (NQF 9) in English/Language
practice/integrated communication or an equivalent qualification in a language/communication related field.

2. Experience
• Two years’ teaching experience at a university.
• Practical knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning in the fields of Academic and Occupational
English/Communication.
