About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Millwright to join our maintenance team at our pipe manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing mechanical equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on tradesperson who enjoys working in a fast-paced industrial environment and takes pride in preventative maintenance and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production and plant equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and identify root causes of equipment failures.
Install, align, dismantle, and repair machinery, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, rollers, bearings, and related equipment.
Carry out mechanical inspections and recommend repairs or improvements.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and equipment specifications.
Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, and basic machining as required.
Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and plant improvement projects.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and report completed work.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and maintenance standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Work closely with production and other maintenance personnel to ensure efficient plant operations.
Requirements
Qualified/registered Millwright or equivalent industrial mechanical trade qualification.
Experience in a manufacturing, steel, pipe, or heavy industrial environment is advantageous.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
Welding and fabrication experience will be an advantage.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, or standby when required.
