The Operations Manager will work 2.5 days per week, other work can be taken on for the remaining days. They will be responsible for proactively ensuring sound governance of African Climate Alliance. The incumbent will work alongside the managerial team on organizational development and strategy as well as all tasks under the principles of sociocracy and ACA’s values.
Governance and Operations
Working with consultants to identify and implement required policy and procedure for effective governance and legislative compliance.
Ensuring all required documentation is completed for Public Benefits requirements.
Ensuring agreements are signed to ensure appropriate workspace, meeting venues and programme venues.
Human Resource Management
Identifying and implementing all required Human Resource Policy and Procedure with the assistance of the HR consultant where necessary.
Ensuring legislative compliance with all labour relations legislation.
Ensuring budget is allocated for head count and that head count is approved in line with the budget prior to recruiting.
Recruiting and selecting employees together with the managerial team
Induction and onboarding in terms of policies, procedures and team culture.
Working with the administrative assistant to:
Manage the ACA phone line
Manage stock of merchandise and assets
Oversee the management of the team email address
Ensure diary management, arranging appointments and booking meeting rooms
