Location: Durban Central, KwaZulu-Natal

Position Type: Full-time, Senior / Supervisory

A well-established security company based in Durban Central is seeking to employ a mature, experienced, and highly responsible Senior Alarm Controller.

The successful candidate will oversee control room operations, manage emergency response protocols, and maintain a high standard of vigilance.

Non-Negotiable Minimum Requirements

Applicants who do not meet all of the following criteria will not be considered:
• Location & Logistics: Must permanently reside within the Durban area and have reliable, issue-free transport to ensure punctual shift attendance.
• Education: Must be in possession of a valid Matric (Grade 12) Certificate.
• PSIRA Certification: Must hold a valid and active PSIRA Certificate with a minimum of Grade B registration.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of active experience operating within an alarm control room, ideally with prior experience in a supervisory or watch-manager capacity.
• Technical Competence: Must be fully computer literate with a strong, deep understanding of security alarm protocols, signal processing, and control room logging systems.

Required Key Skills & Attributes

• Performance Under Pressure: Strong attention to detail and sharp, rapid problem-solving/quick-thinking capabilities during emergency activations.
• Communication: Excellent telephone etiquette and professional verbal communication skills when dealing with clients, management, and armed reaction units.
• Leadership: Ability to command a shift, direct resources, and accurately handle stress-filled emergency dispatch environments.
