Description
The Faculty of the Arts and Design in the Department of Interior Design has part-time positions for Lecturers at the Arts Campus for the following modules: Design Principles I; Digital Design I & II; Interior Design I; Interior Design Practice IV, Interior Design
Techniques II, Entrepreneurship I; African Interior Design I & II; Design Project (PG Dip)
INSTRUCTIONS: Applicants are required to submit, together with the CVs, a fully completed standardized
application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications
and Identity Document. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Candidates may
be subjected to appropriate psychometric testing and other selection instruments.
Critical Performance Areas
• Setting, preparing and loading module content (contact and Online LMS) and conducting lectures
for the modules.
• Setting; marking; evaluating and moderating module assessments.
• Organize site and industry visits and guest speakers.
• Participating in departmental meetings and curriculum development.
• Student consultation and success rate management.
• General administration such as capturing marks on the IT System and compiling of module
evidence files; taking register, success rate reporting.
• Participating in department and faculty community engagement; research and flagship projects
(e.g. Arebueng and Arts Festival)
Minimum Requirements
• B-Tech or Advanced Diploma in Interior Design or an equivalent qualification.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Interior Design will be an added advantage.
• Preference will be given to candidates with Master’s Degree.
• At least two years of industry related or teaching experience.
• Software proficiency: relevant to the module being applied for.
• Full proficiency in English is a prerequisite.
• Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency in working on online learning management systems.
